On the 195-foot level at Launch Pad 39B, STS-97 Mission Specialist Joe Tanner reaches for the lever to release the slidewire basket that also holds Mission Specialists Marc Garneau (middle) and Carlos Noriega (right). They are practicing their emergency egress training from Endeavour as part of Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities. The TCDT also includes a simulated launch countdown and opportunities to inspect the mission payloads in the orbiter’s payload bay.
