Before entering Atlantis from the White Room for a simulated launch countdown, STS-98 Pilot Mark Polansky (left) poses with Travis Thompson, who is the orbiter vehicle closeout chief. The White Room is an environmental chamber at the end of the orbiter access arm that mates with the orbiter to allow personnel to enter the orbiter’s crew compartment. Thompson is with United Space Alliance.
