About this work
Viewed from the end, the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module Raffaello is lowered into the payload canister behind the Canadian robotic arm, SSRMS, already in place. Both elements are part of the payload on mission STS-100 to the International Space Station. Raffaello carries six system racks and two storage racks for the U.S. Lab. The arm has seven motorized joints and is capable of handling large payloads and assisting with docking the Space Shuttle.
