Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Members of the STS-107 crew practice emergency egress from the launch pad, reaching for the release lever of the slidewire basket they are in. The crew is taking part in a simulated launch countdown, part of Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities. STS-107 is a mission devoted to research and will include more than 80 experiments that will study Earth and space science, advanced technology development, and astronaut health and safety.
