Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — The Orbital Sciences Corp.'s L-1011 aircraft sits on the Skid Strip, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, with the Pegasus rocket attached below. The Pegasus will carry into space the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX), an orbiting space telescope that will observe galaxies in ultraviolet light across 10 billion years of cosmic history.
