KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. - Workers in the Multi-Payload Processing Facility check the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) spacecraft as it is removed from the Pegasus XL launch vehicle. Foreign object debris shields will be installed before its launch. The GALEX is an orbiting space telescope that will observe galaxies in ultraviolet light across 10 billion years of cosmic history.
