Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — An overhead crane lifts the MESSENGER spacecraft from its work stand under the watchful eyes and hands of technicians. The spacecraft is being moved to mate it with the Payload Assist Module, the Boeing Delta II third stage, in the foreground.
