Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — In the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility, clean-suit garbed workers secure the fairing sections around the New Horizons spacecraft for encapsulation. The fairing protects the spacecraft during launch and flight through the atmosphere. Once out of the atmosphere, the fairing is jettisoned.
