About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — All eyes, and lenses, focus on the perfect launch of Space Shuttle Discovery on its third attempt in four days. Kicking off the Fourth of July with its own fireworks, the launch made history as it was the first ever launch on Independence Day. Liftoff was on-time at 2:38 p.m. EDT.
