About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Shrouded with a protective cover, half of the payload fairing for the STEREO spacecraft has been raised to a vertical position in front of the mobile service tower on Launch Pad 17-B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The fairing will be lifted into the clean room in the tower and later installed around the spacecraft for protection during launch.
