Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — The orbiter Discovery is lowered toward the mobile launcher platform in high bay 3 of the Vehicle Assembly Building. Behind the vehicle are the external tank and solid rocket boosters already stacked on the MLP. Discovery will be mated to the stack in preparation for launch.
