About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — A solid rocket booster is lifted into the mobile service tower on Launch Pad 17-B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, joining another already there. The boosters are being installed around the United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket for launch of the THEMIS integrated spacecraft. THEMIS consists of five identical probes, the largest number of scientific satellites ever launched into orbit aboard a single rocket.
