Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — This young red-shouldered hawk perches on a roadside pole inside NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The habitat of these hawks is deciduous woodlands, especially near standing water, frequently found in lowlands such as swampy woods and bogs. They range throughout the eastern half of the United States. KSC shares a boundary with the Merritt Island Wildlife Nature Refuge.
