Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — A spider suspended between trees in the foreground has a perfect view of Space Shuttle Endeavour as it roars into the sky on mission STS-118. The rumbling sound of liftoff startles birds flying above. Liftoff of Endeavour from Launch Pad 39A was on time at 6:36 p.m. EDT. The mission is the 22nd shuttle flight to the International Space Station.
