Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Following the simulated launch countdown, STS-123 crew members are ready to release the slidewire basket on Launch Pad 39 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The crew is practicing emergency egress from the pad. The countdown was the culmination of the terminal countdown demonstration test, or TCDT.
