CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- In the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, space shuttle Discovery hangs suspended above the transfer aisle. The crane holding it will lift Discovery to the upper levels and lower it into high bay 3. In the bay, Discovery will be mated to the external tank and solid rocket boosters for launch on the upcoming STS-124 mission to the International Space Station.
