About this work

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – In the Orbiter Processing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, STS-125 Mission Specialist Mike Good, Pilot Gregory C. Johnson, Commander Scott Altman and Mission Specialist John Grunsfeld look at a reinforced carbon-carbon panel. The RCC panels are part of the thermal protection system used on space shuttles. The crew is at Kennedy for a crew equipment interface test, which provides hands-on experience with hardware and equipment for the mission.
