CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At the Astrotech payload processing facility in Titusville, Fla., technicians help guide the cables lifting the GOES-O satellite away from its shipping container. The satellite will be placed on a stand for final testing of the imaging system, instrumentation, communications and power systems. The latest Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, GOES-O was developed by NASA for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA.
