CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – In High Bay 1 of the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Discovery is lowered onto the mobile launcher platform, or MLP. It is in front of the external fuel tank and solid rocket boosters on either side that are already secured there. The shuttle will be attached to the external tank on the MLP.
