CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the rotating service structure, or RSS, has been retracted from the 327-foot-tall Ares I-X rocket, sitting atop a mobile launcher platform. The RSS was opened at midday. A full test of the rocket will be conducted, including a "hot fire" of the auxiliary power units as part of the integrated systems test. The transfer of the pad from the Space Shuttle Program to the Constellation Program took place May 31.
