About this work

Cape Canaveral, Fla. -- At the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, technicians use an overhead crane to move NASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) rover known as Curiosity, to a work stand. The spacecraft's backshell (left), which carries the parachute and several components used during later stages of entry, descent and landing, in addition is the rocket-powered descent stage (far background), also visible in the image.
