CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- One of two solid rocket boosters is transported from a mooring at Port Canaveral in Florida to Hangar AF at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Liberty Star, one of NASA’s two booster retrieval ships, towed the spent booster from space shuttle Atlantis’ final launch to the port. The shuttle’s two solid rocket booster casings and associated flight hardware are recovered in the Atlantic Ocean after every launch by Freedom Star and Liberty Star.
