CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Inside Orbiter Processing Facility-2 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, technicians assist as a large crane lowers space shuttle Atlantis’ remote manipulator system (RMS) robotic arm onto a special carrier platform. The RMS will be transported to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston for possible use on future spaceflights. The work is part of the Space Shuttle Program’s transition and retirement processing of shuttle Atlantis.
