About this work
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – Inside the Orbital Sciences processing facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, preparations to launch NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR, are nearly complete. The spacecraft has been mated with its Pegasus XL rocket and enclosed in the Pegasus payload fairing. Cool, dry air is being pumped into the fairing through a purge line to maintain the proper environment for the spacecraft in the confined space.
