VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR, enclosed in the Pegasus payload fairing, rests atop the transporter in Orbital’s hangar at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The telescope is mated to its Orbital Pegasus XL rocket which juts through the open door of the hangar. The transporter will move them to the runway ramp where they will be attached to the underside of Orbital’s L-1011 carrier aircraft.
