CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft modified 747 jet, or SCA, has arrived at the Shuttle Landing Facility, or SLF, after a 5-hour flight from Edwards Air Force Base in California. To the right is the Mate/Demate device that will be used to lift and attach Discovery atop the SCA.
