CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Rain begins to fall on space shuttle Discovery as it says good-bye to NASA Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39 area for the final time. Discovery is on its way from the Vehicle Assembly Building’s high bay 4 to the Shuttle Landing Facility, or SLF. At the SLF, Discovery will be hoisted onto a Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, or SCA, with the aid of a mate-demate device.
