CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft transporting space shuttle Discovery to its new home taxis down the runway past the Vehicle Assembly Building as day breaks over the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In the background at left is NASA’s new mobile launcher. The duo will fly south over Brevard County’s beach communities for residents to get a look at the shuttle before it leaves the Space Coast for the last time.
