CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Space shuttle Endeavour is hoisted above the ground by the mate-demate device at the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Its cockpit windows have been covered to protect them during the shuttle's upcoming ferry flight. The shuttle will be positioned and connected atop NASA's Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, or SCA, with the aid of the device.
