SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Using a rigid hull inflatable boat, NASA and the U.S. Navy practice retrieving the Orion forward bay cover from the Pacific Ocean as part of the Orion underway recovery test. The Orion boilerplate test vehicle and other hardware are secured in the well deck of the USS San Diego nearby in preparation for the test about 100 miles off the coast of San Diego, California.
