SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Orion boilerplate test vehicle floats freely in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego during a portion of the Underway Recovery Test 2. Nearby, U.S. Navy personnel in a rigid hull inflatable boat monitor Orion. The testing is being conducted to prepare for recovery of the Orion crew module on its return from a deep-space mission.
