SAN DIEGO, Calif. – NASA’s Orion boilerplate test vehicle floats in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego as U.S. Navy personnel practice attaching it to tether lines during a portion of the Underway Recovery Test 2. The U.S. Navy’s USS Anchorage is ready for recovery nearby. The testing is being conducted to prepare for recovery of the Orion crew module on its return from a deep-space mission.
