VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The Delta II interstage adapter, or ISA, for NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive mission, or SMAP, is lifted from the flatbed of the truck that delivered it to the mobile service tower at Space Launch Complex 2 on Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Processing of the United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket that will loft SMAP into orbit is underway at the pad.
