About this work

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The Delta II interstage adapter, or ISA, for NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive mission, or SMAP, is lifted up the side of the mobile service tower at Space Launch Complex 2 on Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, higher than the rocket's first stage already in position in the tower. Processing of the United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket that will loft SMAP into orbit is underway at the pad.
