About this work
Encapsulated in its payload fairing, NASA's Parker Solar Probe is transported past the Vehicle Assembly Building at the agency's Kennedy Space Center, on Monday, July 30, 2018. The spacecraft is on its way to Space Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station where it will be mated atop a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket. The mission will perform the closest-ever observations of a star when it travels through the Sun's atmosphere, called the corona.
