About this work
STS-83 Pilot Susan L. Still gives a thumbs-up as she is assisted into her launch/entry suit in the Operations and checkout (O&C) Building. She is the second woman to fly in this capacity on a Space Shuttle. Still is a lieutenant colonel in the Navy and has more than 2,000 flight hours in 30 different types of aircraft. She also holds a master's degree in aerospace engineering.
