About this work
Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Hail-inflicted divots in the foam insulation are identified by number on the top of Space Shuttle Discovery's external tank. About 150 divots were caused by hail during recent storms. The Shuttle was rolled back from Pad 39B to the Vehicle Assemby Building for repairs because access to all of the damaged areas was not possible at the pad.
