Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — At Launch Pad 39A, the payload canister with the SPACEHAB Double Module and Integrated Cargo Carrier (ICC) inside is lifted up the Rotating Service Structure (RSS) toward the Payload Changeout Room, an environmentally controlled facility supporting cargo delivery to the pad and vertical installation in the orbiter cargo bay. At right of the RSS is the Fixed Service Structure, topped by the 80-foot-tall fiberglass lightning mast.
