Kodiak Island, Alaska — In the Launch Service Structure, Kodiak Launch Complex (KLC), the Kodiak Star spacecraft is ready for encapsulation in the fairing seen at right, above. The first launch to take place from KLC, Kodiak Star is scheduled to lift off on a Lockheed Martin Athena I launch vehicle on Sept. 17 during a two-hour window that extends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. p.m. ADT.
