Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — With dust flying in the strong crosswinds at KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility, a Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, carrying the orbiter Columbia on its back, lands on runway 33. Columbia arrives Facility after a protracted trip from California that began March 1. Unfavorable weather conditions kept it on the ground at Dyess AFB, Texas, until it could return to Florida on March 5 when it landed at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Skid Strip.
