Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — The U.S. Lab Destiny is ready to move into the orbiter’s payload bay from the Payload Changeout Room. The PCR is the enclosed, environmentally controlled portion of the rotating service structure that supports payload delivery at the launch pad and vertical installation in the orbiter payload bay. Destiny, a key element in the construction of the International Space Station is designed for space science experiments and already has five system racks installed inside.
