About this work
In central Namibia are long straight dunes along the western edge of the Kalahari Desert. Farmers and ranchers wage a constant losing battle with the sand dunes that cover once fertile lands. The image was acquired January 4, 2012, covers an area of 43.2 by 50.1 km, and is located at 23.5 degrees south, 18.7 degrees east.
