About this work
This image of NASA's Perseverance Mars rover – visible at the top, right of center – was taken by the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter during its 54th flight on Aug. 3, 2023, 872nd Martian day, or sol, of the mission. At the time the image was taken, the helicopter was at an altitude of about 16 feet (5 meters).
