About this work

This animation captured from NASA's rover driving software depicts the agency's Perseverance during a slippery drive as it ascends toward the rim of Mars' Jezero Crater on Oct. 16, 2024, the 1,301st Martian day, or sol, of the mission. A key objective for Perseverance's mission on Mars is astrobiology, including the search for signs of ancient microbial life.
