S100-E-5893 (28 April 2001) --- Astronaut Chris A. Hadfield, mission specialist, is pictured on the aft flight deck of the Space Shuttle Endeavour during an historic event. A Canadian “handshake in space” occurred at 4:02 p.m (CDT), April 28, 2001, as the Canadian-built space station robotic arm – operated by Expedition Two flight engineer Susan Helms – transferred its launch cradle over to Endeavour’s robotic arm, with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Hadfield at the controls.
