S72-36262 (27 April 1972) --- A high-angle view of the Apollo 16 welcoming aboard ceremonies on the deck of the prime recovery ship, USS Ticonderoga. It was soon after the splashdown of the Apollo 16 Command Module (CM) in the central Pacific Ocean approximately 215 miles southeast of Christmas Island. Astronaut John W.
