iss057e132633 (12/13/2018) --- A photo of the Study of the Gravity’s Effect on Bacteria (ICE Cubes Hydra-2 Bacteria Biomining) onboard the International Space Station (ISS). The ICE Cubes Hydra-2 Bacteria Biomining investigation studies the effects of microgravity on several strains of an ancient type of bacteria that does not use oxygen. The investigation is evaluating the use of these bacteria to produce methane on asteroids for use as a propellant or fuel.
