iss069e053745 (August 3, 2023) -- The South Bay Salt Ponds in the city of Newark, California show their vivid red and yellow-orange colors that primarily come from the microorganisms and brine shrimp in the waters. More than 16,500 acres are part of a restoration project— the largest in the West Coast—that includes pollution reduction, habitat expansion, and flood control.
