iss074e0623357 (May 30, 2026) --- Vancouver International Airport sits on Sea Island (left), where the Fraser River splits into its North and Middle Arms—a natural bifurcation—before emptying into the Strait of Georgia on Canada’s Pacific coast. The airport is the nation’s second busiest and lies just south of Vancouver, a metropolitan area of about 2.73 million people and 23 surrounding jurisdictions.
