jsc2020e040947 (7/18/2019) A view of BioAsteroid Experiment Unit where the experiment is performed. Each Experiment Unit has 2 culture chambers. The BioAsteroid investigation studies how gravity affects the interaction between microbes and rock in a liquid medium. It is hoped that BioAsteroid can provide researchers a better understanding of basic physical processes - such as gravity, convection, and mixing - that control the way liquids mix with rocks and microbes.
